For weariness

Rest for the Bone-Tired

4 min read

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28

When you are truly weary, the last thing you need is another instruction. And notice, Jesus does not give one. He does not say try harder or do more. He simply says come.

The invitation is not to a program. It is to a person. Rest, in the way Jesus means it, is not the absence of work. It is the presence of Someone who carries what you cannot.

So come as you are, tired and behind and unfinished. He is not asking you to arrive rested. He is offering to be your rest. Come to Him in prayer right now, exactly as you are.

A prayer

Jesus, I am tired in a way sleep does not fix. I come to You just as I am. Take the weight I have been carrying and give me the rest that only You can give. In Your name I pray. Amen.
