For loneliness

The God Who Sees You

3 min read

“You are the God who sees me.”

Genesis 16:13

Loneliness tells you a story: that no one notices, that you could disappear and it wouldn’t matter. It is one of the oldest lies, and one of the most convincing.

Hagar believed it too. Cast out, pregnant, alone in the wilderness, she was as forgotten as a person can be. And there — of all places — God met her. She gave Him a name no one had dared before: the God who sees me.

You may feel invisible today. You are not. The same God who found a runaway servant in the desert has not lost sight of you for a single second.

A prayer

Lord, when I feel unseen and alone, remind me that You see me fully and love me still. Thank You that I am never truly by myself. Draw near to me now. Amen.
